Jenae Cohn
Executive Director, Center for Teaching and Learning
Dr. Jenae Cohn writes and speaks about teaching and learning for international audiences. As the Executive Director at the Center for Teaching and Learning at UC Berkeley, she manages the teams responsible for faculty development programming, campus assessment, instructional design, and advising strategy and training. She has developed vision and strategy for implementation of campus-wide instructional support for undergraduate education and is a leader in campus-wide efforts to develop curricular innovation. Dr. Cohn has held prior roles at California State University, Sacramento, Stanford University, and University of California, Davis. As a sought-after writer and speaker, Dr. Cohn is the author of two books: Design for Learning: User Experience in Online Teaching and Learning (Rosenfeld Press, 2023) and Skim, Dive, Surface: Teaching Digital Reading (West Virginia University Press, 2021). She contributes to trade and peer-reviewed publications, including The Chronicle of Higher Education, Faculty Focus, EDUCAUSE Review, Journal of Educational Research and Practice, Computers and Composition, Journal of Faculty Development, and other venues. She has spoken at universities across the United States and has given keynote talks in Egypt, Brazil, and Canada. She regularly leads invited workshops on digital reading, conducting effective online research, and supporting the future of online learning at the undergraduate research university.
Bonni Stachowiak
Bonni Stachowiak is the producer and host of the Teaching in Higher Ed podcast, which has been airing weekly since June of 2014. Bonni is the Dean of Teaching and Learning at Vanguard University of Southern California. She’s also a full Professor of Business and Management. She’s been teaching in-person, blended, and online courses throughout her entire career in higher education. Bonni and her husband, Dave, are parents to two curious kids, who regularly shape their perspectives on teaching and learning.
