After thirty years in the classroom, Paul Hanstedt will become the founding director of the Center for Academic Resources and Pedagogical Excellence at Washington & Lee University in July 2019. He has worked with over four dozen colleges and universities in the US and Asia to explore general education and pedagogical reform, and is the recipient of several teaching awards, including a 2013 State Council for Higher Education in Virginia Outstanding Faculty Award and the 2014 CASE-Carnegie Virginia Professor of the Year Award. He has authored several books, including GENERAL EDUCATION ESSENTIALS and CREATING WICKED STUDENTS.
