Dr. Lori Latrice Martin is associate professor in the Department of Sociology and African and African American Studies at Louisiana State University. Dr. Martin was recently promoted to full professor, effective August 15, 2018. Her research areas are race and ethnicity, racial wealth inequality and black asset poverty, and race and sports. Dr. Martin is the author of numerous scholarly works. Martin's most recent publications include South Baton Rouge, Black Asset Poverty and the Enduring Racial Divide, Color Struck, Pay to Play, Big Box Schools: Race, Education, and the Danger of the Wal-Martization of American Public Schools, and the article, http://"The Politics of Sports and Protest: Colin Kaepernick and the Practice of Leadership."
