Professor Burgess has been with Broward College for 20 years. A graduate of Broward College herself, she went on to earn a Masters Degree from University of Florida in Pharmacology and a Masters in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology from Johns Hopkins University. Professor Burgess’ teaching philosophy centers around application, discovery and diversity. She teaches courses online, face-to-face, and remote. Courses include lectures and laboratories for biology, microbiology and medical and veterinary entomology. Professor Burgess is a baseball fan that loves the outdoors and hiking in the mountains with her dog and son.
