I was born and raised in Caguas, Puerto Rico. I have always been fascinated by science. I hold a BS degree in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus and a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus. I spent one year as a Post-doctorate fellow at the University of Florida in Gainesville. I have been working at Broward College as a full-time faculty member since August of 2003 in the Department of Biological Sciences. I absolutely love my job and I teach Genetics, Molecular & Cellular Biology, Microbiology, Biology for science major students, and Biology for non-science major students. I have 2 children and we live in Plantation, FL. In my spare time, I like to read. I belong to a Book Club and we have monthly meetings to discuss the book of the month.
