Jody E. Jessup-Anger is Associate Professor of Higher Education at Marquette University. Prior to joining the faculty, she served as a student affairs administrator for 7 years in roles such as residence life assignment coordinator, residence hall director, and assistant director and interim director of a women’s center with an academic unit embedded in it. She received her Ph.D. in higher, adult, and lifelong education from Michigan State University, her M.S. in student affairs in higher education from Colorado State University, and B. A. in international studies from American University. Dr. Jessup-Anger is the co-author of Living-Learning Communities that Work: A Research-Based Model for Design, Delivery, and Assessment (2018), and the co-editor of Addressing Sexual Violence in Higher Education and Student Affairs (New Directions for Student Services, Number 161) (2018). A member of ACPA and NASPA, Dr. Jessup-Anger has served on the editorial board for the “Research in Brief” and “On the Campus” sections of the Journal of College Student Development and on the editorial board for the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice. She co-chaired the 2015 ACPA Presidential Task Force on Sexual Violence Prevention in Higher Education and served on the ACPA Commission for Professional Preparation Directorate. In 2011 she was named an Emerging Scholar by ACPA. While on sabbatical on 2017, she served as scholar-in-residence for Workshop Architects. Dr. Jessup-Anger served as an Elon University Center for Engaged Learning Research Seminar Co-Leader from 2017-2019. Her research interests center on how the interaction of students and the collegiate environment can support or impede student learning and development.
