I'm a Senior Academic Developer at Swansea University in South Wales UK. I've been working in Higher Education for over 20 years in a number of different roles across the Student Lifecycle. I'm an advocate for Open Education and community learning and am a self-confessed life long learner. I've always worked full time and studied part time (MA Online and Distance Education, MSc Business Psychology, Professional Certificate in Management, BSc Psychology). In a previous life I was a fully qualified Chartered Surveyor so my route into education is somewhat different ! My current obsession is studying for a part time online PhD in E Research in Technology Enhanced Learning at Lancaster University - I've just started my third year. My research interests are around the areas of open online and social learning. I'm also interested in the use of Open Digital Badges in education and am an enthusiastic amateur #sketchnoter. On a personal note, I have a very supportive husband and two wonderful children, two lazy cats, a very energetic dog and two sleepy hamsters ! I also drive a bright pink car and love anything pink and sparkly.
