I am an educator focusing on instructional design, disability studies, and educational technology. I currently teach Women’s and Gender Studies and Disability Studies at University of Michigan - Dearborn. In the past I have done instructional design and faculty development work with instructors and graduate students at UM - Dearborn, UW Madison, and UC Davis.
I am also active in the movement to resist academic surveillance technologies, in particular remote proctoring, and co-authored an article on my institution’s decision to resist adopting remote proctoring during the COVID-19 pandemic. My interests in Disability Studies include neurodiversity-informed educational approaches, the ableist biases of educational technologies, and the intersections of feminist and disability-informed pedagogies. I also regularly present talks and workshops to other educators on topics related to disability, neurodiversity, and educational technology.
