Ryan Johnson

Ryan J. Johnson is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Elon University in North Carolina. He has written three monographs, The Deleuze-Lucretius Encounter and Deleuze, A Stoic, and a co-authored (with Biko Mandela Gray) book called Phenomenology of Black Spirit. Additionally, he is the co-editor of Nietzsche and Epicurus, Contemporary Encounters with Ancient Metaphysics, and The Movement of Nothingness. His current book project is on the radical abolitionist John Brown. His teaching is an experiment in improvisation and occurs almost exclusively outside. He loves Spinoza, John Coltrane, and trains.
