An award-winning educator, Lance Eaton has been working at the intersection of edtech and higher ed for over a decade at different colleges & universities in the US northeast. He is currently completing his dissertation from UMASS Boston which focuses on how scholars engage in academic priacy. He has given talks, written about, and presented at conferences on artificial intelligence generative tools in education, academic piracy, open access, OER, open pedagogy, hybrid flexible learning, and digital service-learning.
In Spring 2023, he ran a course, "AI & Education" where he and students at College Unbound worked together to explore and critique generative AI and co-create a set of usage policies for students & faculty at College Unbound. From there, he and his students have been involved in various public forums to advocate for more dynamic approaches to generative AI in higher ed and the importance of centering student voices.
