Eric Loepp completed his Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh and is currently an assistant professor of political science at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he teaches courses in American government, political behavior, and research methods. His scholarly research focuses on candidate evaluation and electoral decision-making, particularly in primary elections. In the classroom, he emphasizes team- and data-based teaching, developing activities and assignments that focus on data generated by students themselves. An article documenting this "data-driven classroom" concept has been published in the Journal of Political Science Education, and he is currently working on a project to facilitate collaboration among faculty to share best practices and ideas concerning data-based teaching.
