I received my Ph.D. in Mass Communications in 2017 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I researched health communication and health inequities using a community-based research approach. I worked at the Morgridge Center for Public Service from 2014-2024, starting as a graduate assistant and ultimately finishing my time there as the Assistant Director of Community-Engaged Scholarship. While at the Morgridge Center, I focused on building the community-engaged scholarship portfolio, developing programs, events, funding opportunities, and partnerships to support community-university partnerships that involve research and teaching. Additionally, I served as a resource for many individual consultations with students, instructors, faculty members, and community partners to assist them in building excellent engaged scholarship courses and projects that focused on justice and equity.
Currently, I am supporting undergraduates interested in social innovation and social entrepreneurship through Civil Society & Community Studies coursework. Outside academia, I work as a horse training and riding instructor.
